Edmund Dulac's fairytale and story illustrations are just so lovely. He used the greatest wintery colours! Come December I'm always thinking of images like these, in particular his work from "The Snow Queen." I think I've posted his work a few times before, but I thought I'd add to the collection one more time.

A while ago, I did a modern remake of 'Thumbelina' for my illustration class. After many variations of the characters and setting (so many outfit possibilities, haha!), these are the ones I settled on as part of the set.
