I've been having lots of early mornings lately. I'm still adjusting to it, but its nice to be up at that time when things are very still, you know?
This is my breakfast (and sometimes lunch...) for the week, so far. It kind of reminds me of that crumble I made a while ago. It tastes good with maple syrup or honey in place of brown sugar, too!
I created some illustrations that feature pieces from Orla Kiely's F/W 2011 collection. They are to go on display and for sale alongside some of the actual line when it is sold at Audrey Grace Boutique. I stuck with the 1960's theme that always works so well for Orla Kiely. Honestly though, any excuse to incorporate the decade is good with me. I even had the chance to put the massive collection of 1960's hair and editorial photos that I seem to have accumulated over time to good use! Something that I'm sure I'll find many more occasions for in the future.
I hope that the weekend is off to a good start for you!
Here is a project that has turned me into a bit of a recluse for the past while (but a content recluse!). I created 10 Lula magazine based images for Audrey Grace Boutique. Most of them are inspired by editorials from various issues, but there are also a couple that feature Leith Clark with Kirsten Dunst and Alexa Chung.
Many happy days were spent on these, while I listened to 70's love songs on repeat. Haha sometimes when I get to working I become obsessed with one of the first songs I hear and can't be bothered to listen to anything else! But I am pretty happy with how they turned out, and now wish to create more Lula inspired pieces, after spending so long pouring over my favorite pages.
I have another little project to share with you this week, which I am also pretty excited about! I hope that all is well with you across the sea, Katie! And now I plan to collapse into a sea of hot chocolate until tomorrow.
I recently discovered the work of photographer Nick Meek, and I am pretty in love with it! His use of color in his photos is amazing, and they have such a nice feeling to them that I could just stare at them all day.
I felt like these photos were a good way to say goodbye to summer! More can be found here.
