Spring and Summer "Polaroids"

I made this a few months back for Cupcake Magazine, when it was still cold and snowy out and I was thinking about Spring and Summer. Just a few idyllic activities that come along with the season, only some of which I have partaken in so far this year. I'm not sure when the issue is going to come out, but I just wanted to share this before we start looking forward to fall too much. I have to admit that I already have, a little bit! And seeing things like this around the internet really doesn't help. They are far too nice!

It ain't me babe

This is one of my favorite songs! I enjoy all versions, as they are each a unique take on the song, but must confess to listening to the first and last covers the most. I love the harmonies it gains when sung by a couple, in particular those two (four?).

They don't love you like I love you

Here is a commission that I recently finished - some maps for Audrey Grace Boutique. It was a very time consuming (the tiny drawings were once full scale...) but fun project to work on. They will be on display and for sale along with some other work that I've done, and am soon to be working on when the shop opens this winter. You can click on the images for more detail, if you'd like!

The Lady Vanishes

I love this Hitchcock inspired video for Orla Kiely, directed by Mercedes Helnwein, and styled by Leith Clark. Its such a great collaboration! Orla Kiely seem to enjoy that type of thing.

It also makes me excited for Fall and Winter clothing way to soon. The clothes are just too perfect!

Oh Boy

I don't have very much to report as I've just been working lots lately, attempting to meet quite a few deadlines. I did however bake these cupcakes this weekend for a dinner/party/BBQ. They are regular chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese, vanilla and agave icing. Haha I sort of went overboard and made about 40 because apparently I like to be prepared, so I had so many left at home. They are quite addictive, though, and are almost gone after less than 2 days! If I had known there would be so many left over I probably would have made them healthier, but oh well!

She & Him – Oh Boy (Buddy Holly Cover) by gio_olguin

Oh, and She and Him covered "Oh Boy" on the new Buddy Holly Tribute album. The original is one of those songs that always gets into my head out of nowhere so its nice to have a slight variation available to keep things interesting, haha.

Portions for Foxes

Here is an illustration that I did for the new issue of "Ballad Of" Magazine. The theme was "Pets", and it features interpretations of that theme - from the literal to those more outside the box,  by all kinds of artists. It is in print, which is exciting but also sad, as it is only stocked in the UK and the first batch available online has already sold out. I'll be sure not to procrastinate the next time that they post some more!

Out by the box car waiting

This song is always good for summer!

I set my office up outside today, to edit wedding photos that I took the other day, and work on a few illustration commissions. Everything is less stressful when it can be done outdoors (with lemonade!) and when the mosquitoes aren't crazy of course. Good day. I hope that your weekend is going well!
