C'est L'Halloween

It has been a fairly festive weekend...well as far as food goes anyways. Inspired by all of the pumpkin spice mentions on blogs recently I made pumpkin spice cookies (the cake-y kind) with cream cheese frosting. I watched the 1960 version of '13 Ghosts', and it was one of the first scary movies that I have watched in a long time. It also didn't make me super paranoid like most modern supernatural movies tend to, haha.
Then last night, I made this Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal and it turned out really good!

This is probably the first year that I never got around to carving a pumpkin. It makes me sad but I must admit I have always been way too impatient for it anyways. I like pulling the guts out and baking the seeds but I get so frustrated about carving it that it always turns out badly.

I am so tired right now but am somehow still wishing that it were acceptable for people our age to go out trick or treating.

Zara Envy and Pie

I'm extra excited about Zara finally opening an online shop! Even though I shouldn't be as I certainly can't afford much, haha. I only made it through the dresses and bags, and already have pretty much everything bookmarked. Everything is just so nice! I used to go to the store quite a lot and could never seem to find as many of their best things in one location. People get to them fast!

p.s. I made a ridiculously huge apple pie the other day and didn't get the chance to take photos before it was all gone :(

"That's a circle that turns 'round upon itself" (Fall Music!)

My music taste is very seasonal. I mean there are a few bands that I listen to year round, but when certain seasons hit I just can't help wanting to hear the same songs that I must have become addicted to another year at the same time. I'm coming off of a big T-Rex kick right now (although its possible that they are full timers in my library...) and heading over to the usual fall songs. I have always loved "Figure Eight", and am particularly partial to the Elliott Smith and Blossom Dearie versions. I remember spending way too many hours of my life 3 years ago trying to track down any kind of copy of Smith's, legal or otherwise...The song is definitely on my all time favorite list, and always reminds me of Fall/colder weather for some reason.
